Homecomings

This weekend our campus celebrates Crimson Celebration a.ka. Homecoming. This particular weekend always sneaks up on me. The leaves begin to change color, the students have settled into their routines, the new student workers are trained and manning the front desk, and then suddenly (or so it appears to me) Homecoming and the mid-point of the semester are upon us.

Homecomings are a wonderful thing. Alumni return to campus to see a myriad of changes that have taken place since their last visit, some haven't returned since graduation, others periodically stop by to take a peek. I have been working for the Masland Library since my freshman year at PBU. The number of changes that took place in the space of these years has been dramatic, the BLC, walkway, a new school President.

The library has also grown with the prerequist changes, books have been shifted, personnel have changed, but at its core are the same values. We are here to serve the student body, faculty, and staff of PBU. This is why we add new databases, books, and services. We want the PBU community to find the resources and information necessary for them to accomplish their educational goals so that they can go out to be men and women of purpose. That is what is so wonderful about Homecoming, alumni return to relate their experiences.

If you are a returning Alum please feel free to take a walk around the library. We will be featuring books writen by alumni or faculty in the Lobby. Or you can stop outside to browse through our book sale. Looking forward to seeing you!
